1. Meghalaya House - Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Road, New Delhi

The Meghalaya Houses are primarily meant for the use during official tours of dignitaries and officers of the Government of Meghalaya.

The Meghalaya House located at 9, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Road was established in the year 1982. It covers an area measuring about 1.99 acres. It has a total of 5(five) buildings i.e. 3(three) non-residential & 2(two) residential. The non-residential buildings cater to the VVIPs, top ranking officials and others from the State of Meghalaya. It has a total of 22(twenty two) rooms which include VVIP suites, VIP rooms, Ordinary rooms, the Conference Hall, the VIP Lounge, Office of the Resident Commissioner, Meghalaya House and the Business Center. Apart from the Cafeteria for the guests and a fitness centre the premises also includes the office of the PWD (Buildings) Meghalaya House Sub Division, office of the Tourist Officer and Meghalaya Basin Development Authority (MBDA).

The residential buildings includes 8(eight) nos. of staff quarters meant for the Grade III employees and 18 (Eighteen) nos. of quarters meant for the Grade IV employees.

2. Meghalaya House - Vasant Vihar, New Delhi

The Meghalaya House located at Vasant Vihar was inaugurated in the year 2012. It is spread in an area measuring about 1817.50 sq m. It has a total of 21 (twenty one) rooms which includes VVIP/VIP suites, VIP rooms, Ordinary rooms and 3(three) dormitories. It also holds a Conference Hall and a Cafeteria for the guests

The Resident Commissioner, Meghalaya House, New Delhi acts as a Representative/Ambassador of the State of Meghalaya at the National Capital of New Delhi.

The Office of the Resident Commissioner, Meghalaya House, New Delhi has a variety of roles and duties such as, but not limited to the following:-

  1. Representing the State Government in meetings at New Delhi.

  2. To liaise with Central Government, other State Government to promote cooperation and investments in the interest of the state, as well as for international cooperation.

  3. To coordinate with potential investors including the GOI Officials and International agencies (bilateral and multilateral).

  4. Management of both the State Guest Houses & Protocol.

  5. Promotes the local talents, local products, tourism and the culture & traditions of Meghalaya.

  6. To facilitate and support the State Government to obtain information on issues concerning the State.

  7. To coordinate with the Central Government on various issues for e.g., Disaster Management, Home Affairs, Schemes etc.

  8. To assist and redress the problems faced by the residents of Meghalaya residing in Delhi.

  9. Conduct programmes for the Students from the state under the Chief Minister’s Career Guidance Programme.

  10. Attestation of documents and certificates of students passing out from the State of Meghalaya on fulfilling the required conditions

3. Meghalaya House, at Vashi, Navi Mumbai

The Meghalaya House at Mumbai was inaugurated on 29.08.2008. The objective of establishing of the Meghalaya House at Mumbai is primarily to accommodate those who visit Mumbai for the purpose of medical treatment/check-up in respect of patients, for official visits of VVIPs, VIPs, Government Officials, students and other private visit of the people of Meghalaya.

4. Meghalaya House Kasba, Kolkata

There are 2(two) Meghalaya Houses at Kolkata, one located at Kasba Road (Meghalaya House – I) and the other at Russell Street (Meghalaya House –II). The main objective for establishing the Meghalaya Houses I & II at Kolkata is primarily to cater to the needs of the people of the State by providing accommodation to patients, students, Government Officials and Non-Officials who visit Kolkata from time to time.

5. Meghalaya House Russell Street, Kolkata

There are 2(two) Meghalaya Houses at Kolkata, one located at Russell Street (Meghalaya House –II). The main objective for establishing the Meghalaya Houses I & II at Kolkata is primarily to cater to the needs of the people of the State by providing accommodation to patients, students, Government Officials and Non-Officials who visit Kolkata from time to time.

6. Meghalaya House, Vellore

The objective of the Government in establishing a Meghalaya House at Vellore Tamil Nadu, was primarily to provide accommodation and assistance to the people of the State, namely Government servants both serving & retired, as well as members of the public who are referred to Christian Medical College Hospital, Vellore for medical treatment and for students studying in the nearby area.

The Government’s endeavour is to give a comfortable, clean and accessible space maintaining proper hygiene, providing basic amenities like potable drinking water, clean environment that would improve the holistic health of those patients occupying the House. Critical care patients and their attendants are duly given special attention and in case of death of patients, the Office extends all necessary assistance for transportation of the mortal remains to their respective hometown.

7. Meghalaya House, Guwahati

The Meghalaya House, Guwahati is situated at A.K. Azad Road, Rehabari, Assam. The building has a total number of 13(thirteen) rooms which comprises of 4(four) numbers of V.I.Ps rooms, 2(two) Nos. of Semi-Deluxe rooms, 4(four) Nos. General rooms for official and non-official, 3(three) Nos. of rooms for patients, 1(one) Boys Dormitory with 12(twelve) bedded and 1(one) Girls Dormitory with 12(twelve) bedded. The Meghalaya House has been providing suitable accommodation to dignitaries, patients and other visitors visiting Assam. At present, Meghalaya House, Guwahati has been coping with the flow of visitors effectively.

8. State Guest House, Shillong

The State Guest House ‘Tara Ghar’ has been officially functioning for accommodating/ posting of State Guests. The location of the Guest House is opposite Ward’s Lake, Bivar Road, Shillong. There are in total 5 (five) guest rooms, 1 dining room, 1 sitting room, 1 kitchen and a reception room. Presently, there are 6 (six) staffs who are looking after the functioning of the Guest House.

9. Circuit Houses in different Districts and Sub-Divisions within the State

There are 14 (fourteen) Circuit Houses namely, Shillong Circuit House, Tura Circuit House, Nongstoin Circuit House, Jowai Circuit House, Nongpoh Circuit House, Mairang Circuit House, Sohra Circuit House, Khliehriat Circuit House, Williamnagar Circuit House, Mawkyrwat Circuit House , Baghmara Circuit House , Resubelpara Circuit House, Ampati Circuit House and Dadenggre Circuit House. These Circuit Houses cater to the needs of Officials visiting different Districts by providing accommodation.
